Exploring the sprawling Highlands in Hogwarts Legacy often leads players down unexpected paths filled with secret maps, ancient dungeons, and valuable rewards. Among the various treasure hunts available, the Cursed Tomb Treasure stands out as one of the most intriguing side quests in the southern region. Successfully completing this quest requires deciphering a mysterious map fragment, navigating a dangerous tomb, and solving a tricky stone floor puzzle at the end.

Starting the Quest and Finding the Map Fragment

To begin the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest, players must head toward the southern portion of the world map in the Manor Cape region. Near the West Manor Cape Floo Flame, you will discover a ruined estate surrounded by dark magic and dangerous enemies. Players must locate a secret underground entrance, which can be accessed by lighting a brazier beneath a nearby statue or breaking through the manor basement doors.

Once inside the underground cellar, prepare to face several challenging foes, including dark wizards and waves of Inferni. After defeating these opponents, locate the locked chest in the back chamber and use the Alohomora spell to open it. Inside, you will claim the Mysterious Map Fragment, which provides vital clues to the location of the hidden treasure.

Navigating to the Tomb of Treachery

The sketch on the map fragment points toward a secluded cavern entrance located along the Poidsear Coast region. Players must travel to the Tomb of Treachery, a flooded dungeon hidden behind a waterfall near the coastal entrance. Fast-traveling to the Tomb of Treachery Floo Flame puts you right outside the cave entrance.

Venture inside the tomb and follow the main linear path through the subterranean chambers. You will encounter various obstacles along the way, including heavy spiderwebs that must be cleared with fire spells like Incendio or Confringo. Make sure to keep your wand ready, as multiple spiders and Inferni will attempt to ambush you as you delve deeper.

Opening the Moth Door Chamber

As you near the end of the dungeon, your progress will be blocked by a large golden door with three moth slots. To open this door, you must locate three glowing moths scattered throughout the adjoining side rooms and guide them back using the Lumos spell. Two moths can be found in the room to the right, though one is trapped behind thick cobwebs.

The final moth rests on an elevated ledge in another section of the room. Players can use Wingardium Leviosa to position a movable crate near the ledge, allowing them to climb up and lure the last moth. Once all three moths are placed onto the door, the pathway to the final chamber will open.

Solving the Stone Floor Puzzle

Inside the final chamber, defeat the remaining Inferni to safely inspect the center of the room, where a three-by-three grid of stone tiles lies embedded in the floor. Using the Revelio spell reveals that these tiles correspond directly to the diagram drawn on your treasure map. To solve the puzzle, you must use the Flipendo spell to rotate specific tiles until their symbols match the pattern.

Stand near the entrance facing the grid so that your perspective aligns with the orientation shown on the map. Cast Flipendo on the top-middle tile, the bottom-left tile, and the bottom-right tile. Once the correct three tiles are flipped, a central chest will emerge from the floor, rewarding you with 400 gold and the Treasure-Seeker's Attire cosmetic.
